THE GOCP MISSION

As a ministry of the Greenville Oaks Church of Christ, the Greenville Oaks Christian Preschool has the innate function of serving young families of our congregation and our community.  We provide this ministry in a number of ways:

  • Exihibiting the commitment our congregation has made to the develoment of strong Christian families
  • Providing Outreach services to the parents and children in our community
  • Providing parents with the opportunity for much needed breaks from the often overwhelming task of child rearing
  • Providing the women of the church an opportunity to use their talents, energy, and enthusiasm for the Lord in a ministry where it is possible for them to be compensated monetarily for their time and effort
  • Providing a safe and overtly Christian environment in which to encourage children to interact with others and develop special friendships with peers
  • Providing and nurturing emotional skills by allowing children to develop trusting relationships with others
  • Promoting spiritual growth by exposing children to Bible stories and principles

 CHILDREN LEARN WHAT THEY LIVE

If a child lives with criticism he learns to condemn.
If a child lives with hostility he learns to fight.
If a child lives with fear he learns to be apprehensive.
If a child lives with pity he learns to be sorry for himself.
If a child lives with ridicule he learns to be shy.
If a child lives with jealousy he learns to feel guilty.

If a child lives with encouragement he learns to be appreciative.
If a child lives with acceptance he learns to love.
If a child lives with approval he learns to like himself.
If a child lives with recognition he learns it is good to have a goal.
If a child lives with honesty he learns what truth is.
If a child lives with fairness he learns what justice is.
If a child lives with security he learns to have faith in himself and others.
If a child lives with friendliness he learns that the world
is a nice place in which to live.
